3. Alot of theories in this comments. I have my own too.

   After the conversation between pei wenxuan and princess regarding the details of the last meet up between lichuan and her was about a pill that makes you live forever. And succession? If twhe king lives forever, there is no need for succession right? Also, su rongqing had a conversation with the lichuan before, that lichuan cherished his sister, but will he decide to kill her in future? Meaning that 1, the princess might die, due to the lichuan? Su rongqing may execute the plan, but the mastermind is the li chuan. Aka the pill “that makes u live forever”. Since the princess and lichuan got bed ridden around the same time? But as for su rongqing and pei wenxuan, they did not get sick, they died suddenly.

   So I’m suspecting those in close contact with them may get sent to the past. Hence lichuan might cause both he and sister’s death by taking a pill or make incense that prevents themselves from dying. But instead of being immortal, they died, and got sent to the past. Then su rongqing starts doubting lichuan, because he assumed that lichuan tried to kill the princess, because of the succession of his place. But what if, all he wants is to live forever with his sister? Or he want to change the past?

   Lichuan acts suspicious the moment when he found out that the princess helped hide qin zhenzhen. Its like he suddenly took a step back, and allow his sister to play in court and secretly help her, by asking his trusted officials to help her. Its like he knows that his sister is able to manipulate the court for his and her benefit. Not even worried about her, other than the time when she decided to pei wenxuan and got forced to divorce pei wenxuan. Its like he wants her to live according to what she wants. Also, he did not need to discuss with princess regarding his feelings for zhenzhen, or that he found out about xunchuan’s identity at all… its like he knows that she knows. That is not normal for people his age, depressed or not. Hence he must have secretly time travelled too…

   Btw, it took me several episodes to make sense why qin zhenzhen was renamed xun chuan. It means yearning for chuan (crown prince is named lichuan, so his given name is chuan). That also means that the princess never meant to break the couple apart. She meant to hide zhenzhen from the noble family, to avoid having them and lichuan have any distrust until his succession.

   As for the current king, he’s far too lost… he cant separate lichuan and his empress from shangguan family. He cant tell that the shangguan family stop fighting from power lately, but were looking to stay alive instead. The family that were playing the power play is now su rongqing. He’s using the power his family has to stop lichuan from stepping up. In his mindset, lichuan killed his family, cut his man parts, killed his loved one (princess). But it never occurred that the princess who now travelled back to the past has a reason to help her brother. And he wasn’t evil and power hungry at all.

So from the turn of events of the last two episodes , i feel like the fourth person who came back is Li Chuan but he hasnt doubted her Sister or Pei or SRQ to hv come back or he does but wants just to be a spectator in this second chance to do things just to protect his mom and sis n qzz ?!! So thats why he shows no specific interest to ascend the throne
   When the father asked he could hv said a convincing reply if he hasnt come back,since i suppose he has , he thinks what he did was wrong in the past so he doesn’t agree to his father??! By remaining passive he aims to protect qzz, princess n his mom??@!
   Does he have a look of guilt when he sees his sister??@ i suppose we need Chuan’s monologues nothing is clear on what he thinks till this point
   I suppose Chuan coming back is going to be a reveal later like commented when she finally knows about what her brother did in the past, it is going to be a big blow to her emotions, as already she feels insecure
   She mentions the elixir incident this episode which suggests is the start of Chuan acting against his sister
   Pei n Princess r still in the shadows of Chuan’s hand (as per spoilers) along with SRQ in princess death
   I suppose all four (if Cuan came back too) need a open communication on their stands instead of making decisions based on past events
   Felt sad for Aya n Hua, wish they hv a chance without having to choose anything over love
   i like the general guy but seems these two r so in love, Hua suggests SRQ to know when to stop
   Loved how Pei gave reassurance to the insecure princess, their moment there was beautiful

7. Poor Qin Lin, he escaped the tiger mouth but have to fall to the crocodile cage. Qinghe oh Qinghe, better you stay in the hell in the afterlife. Betrayal have to be paid with the hell.

8. If it is the Old Li Chuan, he would not save Li Rong. But Rou is correct in her observation, the new Li Chuan will risk his life for Li Rong. Even Li Rong herself can’t be that confident…finally, the rebellion has started.

9. Status and nobility class always matter to a Princess. It’s not surprising she initially looked down on Pei, as her marriage partner.

10. I love how the side characters are fully built up, especially Shangguan Ya. In a different drama, Shangguan Ya could just as easily be the main character of the show and it would still work out perfectly. She even has two suitors – Su Ronghua and Lin Feibai. It’s very interesting how her own story plays out alongside Li Rong and Pei Wenxuan’s story. It reminds me of Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms, with how Bai Fengjiu’s story plays out alongside Bai Qian’s story as well.

11. Well Shangguan Ya has made her choice and it’s loyalty not love. I am actually happy about this. I didn’t want her to be the type of weak woman who would give up all her principles and responsibilities for a man. As for her ex assassin/ new general husband to be, I thought they had chemistry when they first met so I have no problems if they end up together at the end of this show.

    I do feel bad for Su Rongha but at the end of the day- he will not choose love over family so since he knows his family is plotting a rebellion, he should let Shangguan Ya go.

12. Dang it. Why is it always the most trusted one that stabs them in the back.

    Anyways I hope both the brother and the sister survive. The same goes for the Crown Prince and Princess. I know the Princess the protagonist of this story so she will survive but I don’t want the Crown Prince to die while trying to save her. As for the Emperor…. I mean I wanted him to die before, but now I really want him to just drop dead. He is willing to sacrifice his 1st born son and two daughters (because Prince Su’s sister is being set up to take the blame for all of this), and make the son of the woman who poisoned him to death the new Emperor- just so that he can win against the Nobles. He is a fool.

13. ohh that emperor is really hopeless even with his beloved Consort Rou telling how she has poisoned him for years to make sure her son get on the throne he is still following her wish and even want to k1ll his others kids lol no wonder he lost his balls with that poison

    He never cared for LC and now want to manipulate him. Asking him to choose btw him and his mother who always by his side is shameless and I hope he really die alone and at the hands of his beloved kids (Prince Cheng and his sister)

    The next episodes are going to be intense I’m excited and worrying for Li Rong.

14. We are now approaching the climax of the roller coaster and everything’s going to unfold. 🎢 I wish they (chuan, rong, emperor) could just communicate and discuss what their goals and visions are. They will realize that they all have the same idea (independence from nobles, equality). Just different ways to get there. Just because chuan values his mother doesn’t mean he’s going to continue to support Shanguan nobles in the future. Also, princess rong has literally been up against the nobles this whole entire time. I don’t know what else she needs to do to prove her stance. Sad that the emperor can bear to have chuan/rong killed just to realize his goals. Everything that consort Rou said about him is true. He’s not benevolent ruler. 🤷🏻‍♀️ he’s not kind but he’s also not ruthless. This is going to be a bloody mess and I’m low key stressed out for pei weixian. He needs to figure out a way to ensure rong’s saftey. Despite pei’s undying loyalty, she still has insecurity issues. 😫 But then again I don’t blame her. Her own dad wants to kill her after all she’s done to help suppress the nobles.

15. omg more fmc like li Rong and a’ya pls they are so impressive!! I was really rooting for a’ya and su, but lin febai also makes a lot of sense. I hope 1st master su doesn’t disappoint, he’s gonna have to make a choice soon. the su boys really move like snails when it comes to women.
    so the emperor hasn’t realized the error of his ways, the audacity of him asking the cp to abandon his mother! feels like we missed something between the eps, when did all of the su family and not just su rq start planning a rebellion? and why? why is li Rong suddenly so mistrustful of her brother? this ep took such a somber turn, I can smell the bloodshed already.
    and that consort rou really intends to sacrifice her daughter? what a terrible woman

16. I’m pitying Su Ronghua the most in this ep. Cause of his selfish ahh brother, he doesn’t get to marry the girl he likes. And I may need more explanation, but Su Rongqing is trying to kill Li Chuan for what? I don’t get it
