  1. i’m officially in love with the poison princess. i think they should have an entire drama dedicated to her. Ye wld be a great match for her. i happen to love Ye too. those two can’t remain single. a spin-off pls.
nothing beats an honest, straightforward n loving man who is brave enough to remind the king to love his subjects n that’s including his pawn. sweetness personified.

  2. What is going on??? We got one episode on Monday and one today. Isn’t supposed to be 2 episodes Monday till Thursday?

  3. The sh*t these crazy ppl do for “love” in this show is mindblowing.
Makes me admire and respect the other healer princess even more. When the Duke gave Li that piece of advice from the last ep, he was talking to her and she listenedšŸ„³šŸ‘
The emperor is also listening to reason which is another win for the DukešŸ’„.

  4. Whoever wrote shen’s prison scene… chef’s kiss…

    The metaphorical irony there….

He’s finally in prison, yet he’s finally free…or so he thought lol…

Imagine prison being the place you have the most freedom and being taken out is actually the real prison sentence

  5. I bet everyone was onto Ye Shijie in the past few episodes. Or was it only me??
But anyway, Wanning is quite foolish to want to save Shen Yurong. Even if Wanning has a backup plan or whatever trick she wants to pull on Fangfei, it doesn’t matter coz Shen Yurong doesn’t want to be saved either.
They better lock him up for life!

  6. I am glad I was right about the emperor.

Also I won’t hide it, I am kind of in awe of the actor who plays Shen Yurong. He has done such a phenomenal job with the character, even with no dialogue you can see the turmoil, guilt, anger, pain, and hopelessness in his body language. You can see the difference in how he carries himself – tall, proud, and confident to the subdued, calculative, shell he is now

I like that Shen and XFF finally have that talk. It’s been building up for a while. And I know he was trying to keep her away from Wanning, but grabbing her like that was stupid.
I wonder how things started with her from his perspective. He was happily married, even the Princess confirms it. And I feel XFF would’ve forgiven him (the show version…the book ver apparently kills the children as well!!) if he had taken the opening she gave him, because she knows he isn’t fundamentally a bad person – just a coward.

Seeing his childhood in that flashback kind of makes sense as to why he chose what he did. A corrupt official killed his father and his final words essentially were “There will always be someone more powerful than you – unless you become that someone”, and he also admits power was one of the things that drove him to what he has become. The grass is always greener on the other side and all. I believe him when he said he loves her, it has been pretty obvious through his actions (protecting her from Wanning, taking the stab for her etc). He regrets killing her, but he also knows he would’ve done it again – because he is doing it again, choosing his mom/sister over her.

I love seeing him just give-up now. I thought he would become heartless and ruthless like the princess, but it was nice seeing him acknowledge his stupidity and accept fate – be it death or exile (I like how after his talk with XFF he realized only he was to blame for his actions, and stopped blaming Wanning).

Also, he said he was being “fooled” by them. Which makes me wonder if the Princess told him a milder version of the plan, which he agreed to. Because he wasn’t home the night shit went down, when he came back he was already a mess…so maybe he found out about the actual plan, went out to confront them, came back to find his wife’s reputation in society ruined and a sword hanging by the thread over his family.

Shen Yurong should’ve worn a veil on his first day, hidden his “handsome” face from the Princess lol.

Pretty sure Wanning’s trump card is Xue Zhao (Which mean’s that lady’s death previously was a waste). But WHY were they alive? Did the Princess predict she might need a bargaining chip against a dead woman?

Ye Shijie is a good man. I hope he finds someone who loves and appreciates him.

  7. “You fell for her”
    “Yes”
Duke Su didn’t even hesitate!! I love how sincere he is and how he only has eyes for her.

But Shen Yurong?! He admitted he loved Xue Fangfei when Jiang Li was provoking him, yet he had an affair with that crazy princess when they were still married. How hysterical!

  8. Princess has JL brother to threaten her to withdraw the charge. She is really one Nutty princess

  9. Did Shen Yurong actually expect Jiang Li to “give into him” after he hit her in the face with a shovel and buried her alive? Is he nuts?

Anyways after watching this episode I feel a tiny bit of pity for him. He and his wife were happy and in love and he was working hard towards being a good official like his father wanted him to be, but because a psychotic princess took an interest in him his whole life was ruined.

With that said he and his mother and sister are not without blame.

He might have loved his wife, but he still chose to betray her and have an affair with the Princess while he was still married. Unless the psycho princess drugged and raped him, or kidnapped his mother and forced him to become her lover or else she would kill his mom, he enter into that affair of his own free will and is to blame for his own troubles.

As for his mother and sister- I do not believe they are in this because they are afraid of the princess. They only see the money and benefits that would come from having the Princess marry into their family, so of course they felt no regret or reservation about getting rid of the old wife to make way for the new one. They all deserve to pay for their crimes against Xu Fang Fei so I hope she makes them pay dearly.

Anyways the ending scene was intriguing. The Princess obviously has an ace up her sleeve. I can’t help but wonder who she is holding hostage in order to force Jiang Li to change her statement.

  10. Yes, he fell for her! The emperor warned him and then said to him to take care of HIS pawn. Wow!

  11. He finally admits it to the emperor. In fact Iā€™m glad he did. It was obvious, even though heā€™d denied it before but putting it out there front and centre is better, at least now the emperor wonā€™t be so quick with the chopping knife when considering which ā€œpawnā€ he can afford to get rid of next.

  12. I wish the director wouldn’t have used so many frontal face frames (or whatever it is called), especially during emotional scenes. Used so often, I find it distracting and not emotionally engaging.

Other than that, I am glad the emperor and Duke Su truly have a brotherly friendship and are honest with each other. That was nice to see.

  13. This princess is actually nuts and I’m disturbed. She is so annoying. Like what’s her deal exactly???

I hope she gets drawn and quartered. That’s what she deserves. A blackened soul

  14. Youā€™re kidding me. This whole thing started because she saw how happy XFF and Shen were and she thought in her deranged mind that she could also have that by having him kill his wife and replacing her?! Really?! Wow.

Shen deserves what is coming to him and I gotta say, I am here for it.

Whatever that psychotic princess has up her billowing sleevesā€¦. I hope it flips around and ends her.

I want her end and Shenā€™s end to be horribly satisfying to us viewers.
